During this time, communication from Fresh Student Living was the absolute minimum it could've been. The worst experience I've ever had with a company!Īs the other review regarding Calico states, the building was not completed for the set move-in date in September 2018 and we didn't end up moving in until 6 weeks after this. I am sure nothing in Liverpool could beat what calico has to offer. Slightly pricey, but a bargain when all of the above consideredĢ.Wish the weather could be better, not sure how Calico can fix that. Made loads of new friends, mostly students of liverpool uni, all very caring and respectful of each other.ġ. They went out of the way to accommodate me and some of my housemates even.Ĥ.Location is ideal, views majestic and local grocery shops a stone throw away and my hospital “two stone throws away”ĥ.Amenities plentiful, one cant get bored here, table tennis, air hockey, playstations and even a gym, what else can one ask for.Ħ. The best living space by far that I have seenģ.Staff has always been super efficient lead by the Manager Caroline ,Karen, Aiden,Scott, Adnan and even the cleaning ladies are super helpful and caring towards me. Im a Doctor doing a Fellowship at Royal Liverpool Hospital. I thought it was nice but they treat us like idiots. Please, itsy overpriced so do yourself a favor and not go to this place. You're supposed to have a guarantor signature before a tenancy (breach of contract AGAIN). First off, I don't lol because there is no guarantor signature. ![]() Strike 3 is how I rebooked with them and they asked for my guarantor but since I no longer want to live there, even with signing the tenancy agreement they claim I must find someone to replace it. Then for my peace of mind they say it's okay. Second, the place feels safe within my room but after requesting for my lock to be fixed, their reason for nothing to be done is the contractor has to come in and that the room doors have swollen. Place got flooded (wowser) but still not sure why.boiler maybe. Let's start with the 6 weeks not being able to move in and with ONLY 3 weeks being taken off. For added security, there is a security team and CCTV. The Accommodation Team are always on hand to help you with whatever you need, even if it’s just for a friendly chat, and they also host regular social events. There’s also an equipped gym, cycle store and laundry facilities to make use of. There’s a sky Lounge, on-site cinema, a TV lounge and games pods. When you want to socialise, Calico offers some amazing spaces for you to enjoy with friends. Shared apartments have stylish communal kitchens and living spaces and studios come equipped with private mini-kitchens and great features. There’s a huge variety of rooms available to choose from so you’ll definitely find something to suit your budget and preferences. The accommodation is situated within walking distance to John Moores University, the University of Liverpool, Liverpool Hope University and Liverpool city centre.Īt Calico, you can opt for either a modern en suite room in a shared apartment or a private studio with plenty of space. ![]() ![]() They also ask for references before the panel interview, which is somewhat weird.Calico offers students in Liverpool high-spec en suite rooms in a fantastic location. The interview process took about 3 weeks, followed by 3 weeks of silence prior to rejection. A few people did not leave any remaining time for me to ask questions at all. During my interview with one of the PIs, on my question about what qualities would constitute a perfect employee on his opinion, I was told to go look at the job description and that it's self explanatory. Some of the science-related questions asked were not applicable to the position, and were never mentioned in the job description as well. The questions asked were heavily, heavily technical with no personality evaluation whatsoever - it felt more like if you were to unexpectedly walk into a final exam in college. The attitude was very unfriendly, a lot of people didn't smile back, were short, and acted as if the interview was a huge inconvenience. The feeling that people at Calico were giving was very elitist and pretentious, as if you are a priori not worthy of working there with them, unless you can change their mind and prove yourself during the scheduled interview slot. The interviews were far from being pleasant - vast majority of interviewers were very rude and condescending. Interview After applying and talking to a recruiter, there were multiple 1-1 interviews, as well as an all day online panel interview with about 10 people.
